Healed and Strong (healedandstrong.com) is a personal blog and support resource created by Scott Harris, sharing his head and neck cancer journey to support other survivors and caregivers. [Note: site is currently running on a temporary address while DNS is being set up — update this line to healedandstrong.com once the domain is live.]
What Personal Data We Collect and Why
Free Resources (Lead Magnets)
When you enter your email address to download a free guide, checklist, or PDF, that email is stored in our email service provider (Reach, by Hostinger) so we can deliver the resource and send you related content from Healed and Strong. We do not sell or share your email address with third parties.
Comments
Commenting is currently disabled site-wide. If enabled in the future, this policy will be updated to describe what’s collected (name, email, comment content, IP address for spam prevention).
Store Purchases
When our shop is live, purchases will be processed through WooCommerce and Stripe. Payment card details are handled directly and securely by Stripe — we never see or store your card number. We retain order information (name, email, shipping address if applicable) to fulfill your purchase and for our own records.
Media
If you upload images anywhere on this site (such as in a future comment or account feature), avoid including embedded location data (EXIF GPS), as this could be extracted by visitors who download the image.
Cookies
This site may use cookies for basic functionality, such as remembering your session while browsing or shopping. If commenting is turned on in the future, optional cookies may be used to remember your name and email for future comments, as described above.
Embedded Content
Some posts may include embedded content (such as videos) from other websites. Embedded content behaves as if you visited that other website directly, and that site’s own privacy policy applies to any data they collect.
Who We Share Your Data With
We do not sell or share your personal data with third parties, except as required to operate the site (such as our hosting provider, email provider Reach, and — once live — our payment processor Stripe). If you request a password reset (for a future account feature), your IP address will be included in the reset email for security purposes.
How Long We Retain Your Data
We retain email addresses collected through lead magnets until you unsubscribe. Order records (once the store is live) are retained as needed for tax, legal, and customer service purposes.
Your Rights Over Your Data
You can request a copy of the personal data we hold about you, or request that we delete it, by contacting us directly at support@healedandstrong.com. This does not include data we’re legally required to retain.
